does the Web Browser work on sony blu-ray player BDP S590?

Q. i got the sony blue-ray/dvd 3d player verion:BDP-590 and i went to the Internet Browser or Web Browser and under it says "website display is available" and when i went to watch movies on animeflavor.com and on the place where the video is suppose to be it said "Plug-in content' so does it work or and how do i get the plug-in?

The web browser on this blu ray player isnt like the one on your computer. You can not install plug ins. The web browser on our blu ray players are just really really basic.

I'm looking for a good smart Blu-Ray player that does not have an open web browser feature. The only feature I really want on it is to be able to watch movies from NetFlix. Does anyone know of a good player with as little special features as possible?

That depends on the particular developer. However, expect XP support to slowly get dropped by more and more developers as time passes, much in the way that Windows 98 support is almost completely non-existent these days.

The reason for this is that supporting XP (particularly with driver software) requires additional effort and resources on the part of the devleoper to program compatibility in. However so long as XP remains popular, then many developers will try to support it as best as they can.

Is it a all-in-one device? Well yes and no. It has all the features you mentioned, and they all work great except for internet browser. Although it gets upgraded time by time through firmware updates, it still is far away from PC browsers like Firefox. But I strongly recommend you to buy PS3, as it is a great device, and starting September 1st it will also be smaller and consume less power. Oh, and btw the cheapest version is the 120GB version, which will sell for $299. You can also buy old phat version 80GB PS3 for the same price.

I've got an xbox 360, ps3 and bluray player (for downstairs). i HATE the ps3, yh the blu-ray is good but i paid £210 for the 80gb ps3 and £90 for my other bluray player. however, i do like the web browser with the ps3. is there a bluray player with a web browser like the ps3 but not the ps3?

blu-ray abilities, even though its great.

I store all my porn movies on the PS3, and copy my CD-s to it,
so I dont have to find disks to play I just fire up th PS3, and have
days of porn at a button push. Makes those parties a lot easier to have.

I mean can't you get all the same internet apps and whatnot and just have it go through your blu-ray player instead of your actual tv?

For the most part, yes. There are some smart TVs that have full web browsers or certain interfaces that make them fun and user friendly, but generally speaking, most people are fine with using a bluray player rather than buying a smart TV. If you just want the basic apps, you'll be fine.

I live in an apartment complex that offers free wifi, I would like to find a blu ray player with a web browser so I can type in the password (voucher) needed to gain internet access on the device. They can get me access now if I give them the MAC address to the device I have now, but they charge a monthly fee for this service. Are there any blu ray players that have a simple web browser?

There are some "Smart" Blu rau players that have web browsers like the Samsung BD ES900 but my understanding is they are hard to use as they do not have a mouse nor a key board so navigating the net can be difficult....
