Ps3 slim cant play blu ray games. Help.?

My a ps3 320gb slim has a problem playing blu ray games. When i put in a ps3 disc game it works for like 5-10 minutes then begins to make a clicking noise and freezes. Then once it freezes i turn it off and turn it back on and for about an hour or the rest of the day it doesnt even display any blu ray disc game on the xmb screen. Everything else works fine. Such as: music, videos, dvds, downloaded games, internet browerser, and etc.. Does someone know whats going on.

If your warranty is not void then return it to get it fixed but if it is void then keep reading.

It sounds like your blu ray player is damaged or the lens is dirty. If the lens is dirty all you have to do is clean it and it should be working a whole lot better. Once you do that and its still working bad then you have bopbd(burned out ps3 bluray drive). BOPBD is more common with ps3 slims and is becoming a nuisance to more and more ps3 users. It makes a clicking noise of death before you wont be able to play any ps3 blu ray games but everything else should work fine. It requires to replace something in the blu ray drive maybe the laser or something. Im not to sure

Once it starts to make that sound you may have a good 2-3 weeks to play some blu ray disc games until it seriously begins freezing.

i would take a qtip with a strong isotropy alcohol to the laser lens eye, then use the other end of the qtip to dry it up. ofcourse unplug the player first and be prepared to take it apart, don't don't any of the leads that connect the + and - of any large capacitors, and don't touch any of the ic chips. remember which way the magnet at the top of the cdplayer was before taking it off, it will just fall right off if u turn the player upside down. also don't mess with any of the loading mechinizims as they will just fall apart with little effort but the gears are usually kinda easy to figure out where they went as they have lil pegs where they fit into the centers. don't forget to eject the cd before doing all this, that will save u a lot of butt ache. don't zap urself! unplug, and please be kind, rewind.

keep youself grounded, touch the metal casing often, or run a wire from ur wrist to the case if u think u'll be touching the actual circuitry often

My Blu Ray player won't play newer discs?

My Sony Blu Ray player is the light of my life in dark times and I love it. Unfortunately we are having some issues as of late. The following is a detailed account of what is occurring and a plea for help from anybody:

Two of the newest movies I have purchased ("Les Misérables" and "Silver Linings Playbook") have had trouble playing. I will insert the discs into the device and after a lengthy loading process (never leaving the home screen) it says "Cannot operate this disc.". With Les Mis, I have had some success with turning the device on and off over and over again until it works, but Silver Linings is not so lucky. Another weird thing is the fact that another newly purchased movie, Django Unchained, works perfectly, as do all of my other films.

I'm in a bad place right now. If this keeps up, I will be forced to watch the DVD versions of these films, a line I do not wish to cross. If someone can help me with this situation, I would much appreciate it. And if the solution provides a safeguard against this type of behavior in the future then that would be just tops. I can't wait to read the two or fewer answers this question will recieve.

Well first of all a lot of Blu-Ray players are connected to the Internet (or are designed to be so) and one of the things that needs to be done every so often is to check for firmware updates (sometimes called simply "system" or "software" updates).

It may be that the newer Blu-Ray disks are coded with something that the newer firmwares are designed to handle.

Failing that, depending on the age, say one of the first few generations of players, it may just be getting a little long in the tooth and will never be able to play the newer disks. The only option at that point is to replace the unit with a newer one.

we just put in a blu-ray dvd and the dvd was messed up it's all jerky and only playing like frame by frame. I tried to stop the dvd and take it out, it didn't do anything. I've been pressing the power button, it won't turn off it keeps playing. i even tried unplugging it, (if I even pulled out the right thing) what the heck is going on???

Can connect to netflix with Blu-Ray device?

Hello, I just recently purchased a samsung Bd-e5400. Everytime I try to use an app (Netflix, Pandora, etc.) I keep getting a network connection error (hooked up wirelessly). However, when I check the network status it says everything is working fine. The Wifi is working fine in my house and all my other wireless devices have internet. What should I do?

First check the network using a computer and see if the Blu Ray player is recognized, also check to see if the number assigned is the same as the blu ray is reading out...Try to reinitialize the Wireless router turn it off unplug from the wall compleatly, wait 30 seconds and replug and restart do the same with the Blu ray player if that does not work try to reformat the Blu ray player setting to original configuration and try re-establishing a new wifi connection a new...

Keep receiving error message on Netflix?

I use a Sharp Blu Ray player to view netflix on my tv, and recently it's been giving me the error message about every 10-15 minutes while using the service. I cannot reconnect to Netflix until I turn my Blu Ray player off and then back on again. Then the same thing happens a short time later. It doesn't appear to be an internet issue as I can watch netflix on my tablet without any problems. Any help would be much obliged.
The Error Message says that it's unable to connect me to Netflix and to go to their website for assistance. I've done that, but nothing they suggested really helped. I'm starting to think that it's an issue with the BluRay player itself.

Whats does the error message say??
Check the internet connection to the BluRay player. if its wireless check if there are other devices or electronics in general near the BLURay player that might be hindering the wireless signal. Use ur laptop or tablet to check the signal strength near the area where u keep ur BluRay player. If its in a cabinet or something or blocked by something it might not be getting enough signal from the router

Its not the same bluRay player, but the jist of it says that its a problem with Netflix, at their end. You can try to get around it by going to your netflix and removing the BluRay player from the device list, then loggin out. then clear the history on the bluray device and relogin from there.
i dont use netflix so i dont ahve a lot of experience with it. check out the site

Since you think it might b the player check if u need to update the system (firmware update). For that you will probably have to visit the SHARP wesite and look for help there. Checkout what NETFLIX FAQs have to say about it too

Any programs running make the machine slower. Don't run - or completely remove any software that isn't critical.

RAM memory is the easiest and fastest way to upgrade / speed up a machine.

A faster hard disk, especially if you can afford SSD is schweet!

Changing the processor is probably the most complicated thing besides rebuilding the whole thing.. you need to check Motherboard BIOS versions, download Chipset drivers, and physically make sure you have a good electrical connection, and install a new heatsink that matches the processor + fits the case + does the job well. and then.. you just might have to install all your software from scratch, too.

Use the old hard disk & old software.. but clean the machine out - format hard disk, install all software from scratch. This eliminates the years of updates and corrections, wipes out nearly all viruses and errors, and gives you the "cleanest" base to start from. lots of labor, but no cost.

Make sure it is physically clean, no dust or pet dander blocking air flow - keep the case vents & fans clean - as well as keeping all the interior parts clean, too. Heat is your enemy.
Keep everything as cool as practical.

If you want to tweak every last bit of speed, then look at what you are specifically trying to do.

If you want a faster video playback, make sure you have the best DVD (or CD, Blu-Ray) player you can get, the best software with updates you can get, and possibly a great video card. When playing a video, turn off all other software you don't need.

Gaming - similar, but look at your input device(s) - maybe a high-precision gaming mouse could help, maybe a better video card will give faster frame rates, maybe a new or better network card (check out offerings from Killer!) can help reduce or even falsify server reports about your lag times to your advantage.

Internet browsing.. check your network speeds, maybe your router is overheating..maybe a neighbor or brother is hijacking part of your signal. Then use the fastest browser that you can. Probably not IE.. check Chrome, Opera, and others until you are happy.
Disable (or run a program that blocks) any or all plug-ins except the ones you need.

Heck - even loose or frayed wires can interfere enough to make me frustrated. Check everything.
A cheap ( RF noise problems) or under-rated power supply can be a problem that never gets diagnosed. They aren't usually that expensive. see if that can help, too.

Every part of every device on your computer contributes to the speed (or slow) that you experience.
Check, maintain, replace, or tinker with anything from the keyboard & mouse through all memory & drives, any cables, power & networking. Optimize your operating system, and only run the software - and options - that you need to have running.

Check these things constantly, like a New Jersey "guido" would lovingly polish his IROC-edition Trans-Am or Camaro every day.
