How do I play .mts files with my sony s360 blu-ray player?

Rocky

To be clear, I don't want to convert the files. I just want to take a bunch of .mts videos, burn them to a dvd and play the HD videos on my blu-ray player which is able to play avchd files. So far, simply burning .mts files onto dvd and playing the dvd doesn't work. I think there may be a certain file structure needed (e.g. /AVCHD/STREAM and /AVCHD/CERTIFICATE), but I'm not sure of the exact structure needed. Are other files needed such as index.bdm? Anything else? Thanks.

Answer
You may use the best software I have seen AVS Video Tools. It can convert to/from all key format, upload video or DVD directly to key portables like iPod, Sony PSP, Archos, Zen Creative, and mobiles.

It can capture video from DV or webcams, TV tuners, DVB-T, DVB-S, transfer VHS tapes to DVD, remove commercials, edit video, copy and burn DVDs and video files: AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.), MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, QuickTime (MOV, QT), SWF, DVD, VOB, VRO, MPEG 1,2,4, MPG, DAT, VCD, SVCD, ASF, H.263, H.264, RM, DVR-MS.

Blue ray - Quicktime Converting?

W

I have created a movie on my macbook using imovie.I have converted it to a quicktime file and I want to play it on my blue ray using a USB stick. However, when I plugged in my USB stick its says the media is not compatible. How can I make my Imovie compatible with my blueray player? Please help- it would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to play on my USB drive - cause this movie will be updated from time to time and I do not want to rip a DVD each time that I make a change to the video. It would be easier if I could just play it from my USB.

Thank you very much for all the help!

Answer
If you used iMovie to export an .m4v file with H.264 video encoding and AAC audio compression (the default export format of iMovie), try if changing the filename extension to .mp4 helps. They are both basically the same, but your Blu Ray player might be preferring .mp4.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, check your Blu Ray player's manual. It should list which file formats and video/audio encoding standards are supported for playback from a USB storage device.

If you add this information to your question here, we could look for a specific solution (QuickTime export settings in iMovie or conversion).

Nero 11 Creating A Blu Ray Disc Help?

Q. Hi,

Im using Nero 11 and when i open Nero Video and pick to make a new Blu Ray disc i add a none HD video file the frame width is 352 and the frame height is 288 so i believe the aspect ratio is 4:3. i then go to edit the file and i chose it to have 5.1 sound and for it to be hdtv full hd. when i do this i get 2 black lines to the left and the right of the video sort of like what you see when you have a widescreen film on expert the widescreen the black lines are on the top and bottom. so i want to know how i can stretch the video size to fill the screen so there are no black lines. i know if i click on the video in the preview part of edit i get a white box around the video that lets me stretch it but when i start to stretch the video to the sides it also stretches to the top and bottom so when i have removed the black lines to the left and the right there is a large part of the picture missing from the bottom and top due to the stretching.

is there any other way i can get the video to fit the screen so there are no black lines to the left and the right, with out losing parts of the video from the top and bottom.

Most Helpful answer gets 5 stars

Thanks Joe

Answer
I'd like to recommend this DVD Creator to you. It can convert any videos to High-definition (HD) Blu-ray movies and burn into DVD or Blu-ray Disc. Almost all kinds of videos are supported by HD Movie Maker including WMV, MKV, AVI, DivX, XviD, MPEG, MP4, QuickTime Movie, Real Video, H.264/AVC, M2TS, etc, which can be coded to the high definition videos and be viewed on Blu-ray players (including Sony PlayStation 3).
You may get it for a try.

Answer
If using a Windows OS PC, these two programs, both of them, can do the Picture in Picture (PIP) effect very well and easy. They both can also do many, over 1800 each, other effects.

Go get RealPlayer, A Video Player Program that makes it easy to download any Video off of the Internet, then convert that file you download to something your Video Editing Program can understand and use.

Pinnacle Studio 14 HD Ultimate & Sony Vegas Pro 10

Screen Shot - http://asimplelife.ca/nle.html Upgrade your computer to AVCHD specs below and you can run both programs seen on my Web Page on your computer. Just Rejig the search term below in the YouTube search, from the instructions below.

This is not a program that can run on any computer, see below -

Minimum System Requirements

Windows® 7, Windows Vista® (SP2), or Windows XP (SP3)
Intel® Pentium® or AMD Athlon⢠1.8 GHz (2.4 GHz or higher recommended)
-Intel Core⢠2 Duo 2.4 GHz required for AVCHD*
-Intel Core⢠2 Quad 2.66 GHz or Intel Core i7 required for
AVCHD* 1920
1 GB system memory recommended, 2 GB required for AVCHD*
DirectX® 9 or 10 compatible graphics card with 64 MB (128 MB or higher recommended)
-256 MB required for HD and AVCHD*
DirectX 9 (or higher) compatible sound card
3.8 GB of disk space
DVD-ROM drive to install software

Import Formats

⢠Video: AVCHD*, AVCHD Lite*, BD Blu-ray*, DV, HDV, AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX®*, MPEG-4*, 3GP (MPEG-4)*, WMV, non-encrypted DVD titles (incl. DVD-VR/+VR), QuickTime® MOV (DV, MPEG-4*, H.264*), DivX Plus® MKV*
⢠Audio: MP3, MPA, WAV, AC3*, WMA
⢠Graphic: BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, PSD, TGA, TIF, WMF, PNG, J2K

If interested, links below takes you to the sites, but you can get these two programs for free. Do this by opening a web browser, surfing over to YouTube. Once there, in the search box on that site, enter 'Pinnacle Studio 14' or âSony Vegas Pro 10â. Youâre looking for free download, find a link or video that says that, in the video description, there will be link for a free download. Make sure, before you do this, to make sure your computer can meet or exceed those Specs above, and pay special attention to the AVCHD specs if you have or are going to get a HD camcorder.

A laptop running these Programs, when rendering say a 10 minute Video out, be prepared, render times could leave your laptop useless, while rendering for 4 or 5 days on that file.

have they invented a dvd player that can play quicktime movies..?

Hmmm..

I just burned a whole lot of family videos and photos and put it in the dvd player, and found out that it wont play any of the videos that are on the dvd - r! So I was wondering before I buy a new dvd player, are there in fact any that play quicktime movies, or do I have to change the format of the videos... (please say they do exist otherwise that's a whole 3 days wasted :P)

Answer
It is not so much inventing, but using a hardware chip capable of Mpeg4, and licensing he codec etc.

You can look into a blu-ray player. Many play all sorts of things.

Does the new Macbook can play a downloaded movie in Blu-Ray in 1080p?

I'm downloading a Movie in Blu-Ray 1080p and I wanted to know if my macbook can support that and play it.

Answer
I'm assuming you are downloading it from a torrent site. The file is probably a avi or rar, which means you will need some stuff to get it to play: Xvid, Divx, Perian, VLC Player and UnRar. The first 3 have all sorts of plug-ins for quicktime to play AVI. VLC is a player that is very helpful when Quicktime can't open a file. UnRar turns Rar files into playable files. If you get spotty graphics on Quicktime and VLC, try Plex.

Your macbook doesn't have 1080p resolution. You could hook it up to an external display that supports 1080p if your graphics card supports 1080p.

I would not do this if you have a 2006 or 2007 without checking with someone more knowledgeable than me first. The 2006 and 2007 models have GMA 950 graphics cards and they have had some problems. So, I might be afraid of it blowing out the graphics card. Apple has extended the warranty on the those graphics cards because of the issues.

Next time save yourself the extra problems and download stuff in standard def.

I'm buying a new laptop, and I have come down to two choices: one with a Blu-ray player and one without. The computers are exactly the same except one has a blu-ray player and one doesn't. The one that does have a blu-ray player is 150 dollars more than the one without. Should I get the one with or without the blu-ray? Is the picture quality of blu-rays that much better than DVD's?

Answer
Blu-ray Disc (also known as BD or Blu-Ray) is an optical disc storage medium designed to supersede the standard DVD format. Its main uses are for storing high-definition video, PlayStation 3 video games, and other data, with up to 25 GB per single layered, and 50 GB per dual layered disc.

During the format war over high-definition optical discs, Blu-ray competed with the HD DVD format. Toshiba, the main company supporting HD DVD, conceded in February 2008, and the format war ended;[4] in July 2009, Toshiba announced plans to put out its own Blu-ray Disc device by the end of 2009.

If you want to save money, you can use a third party Blu-ray Ripper to help you to convert Blu-ray Disc to other video formats to enjoy on your QuickTime, Apple TV, iPod, etc.

I have a Mac and an external Blu-ray Drive, how to play Blu-ray Movies with them?

Answer
Maybe, first your blu-ray must be compatible with a mac. You can do this by just plugging it in after you install a blu-ray player.

You have to have a blu-ray player since quicktime, itunes or anything reinstalled won't play them.

I found on that has a free trial, the trial is just a watermark on the video while you watch it and to remove it you pay $60. I'd just use the software with the watermark. (link in source)

The software is the same as Kagerou's.
