how do i get my blu-ray disc player to work?

ilovesumme

I put the disk in... the blu ray player is showing that the seconds are going by so I know it is playing. but it isn't showing up on my screen...

What tv/video thing should it be on? video 1 video 2 video 3 HDMI?? i tried all of them and it doesn't work... is there something else that i should put on??

sorry i'm not very good with tvs

Answer
Connect the blu-ray player to your TV using a HDMI cable. This will provide you with video and audio with a single cable.

Turn on the blu-ray player. You don't need to have a disc in it. Turn on the TV and set it to use the input where the HDMI cable is connected. Use the "Video" or "Source" button on your remote to cycle through the inputs on your TV. For instance, on my TV, my HDMI inputs are Video7 and Video8.

That's all there is to it, really. If you aren't seeing anything on the TV, then it could indicate there's a problem with either the HDMI port on your TV (try a different port) or the HDMI port on the blu-ray player.

Where can I buy a replacement blu ray remote?

Cameron

I lost my Sony Blu Ray player remote. The model is the S360, and I can't seem to find the remote anywhere. Not in stores and not online. I was wondering if maybe the PS3 Blu Ray remote would work for it, seeing as how they are both Sony, but on the back of the packaging it says "For PS3 only."

It won't let me play half of my movies because they can't be controlled from the player itself, it has to be done by remote control. D: Heellpp.

Answer
Yeah the PS3 remote wont work, it uses bluetooth. Maybe try a universal remote, try google-ing a remote compatable with your model of player.

What is the Onkyo S-3500 remote code for Sony Blu-ray Disc player?

Glimmer

I am trying to find the remote code to program my Onkyo S-3500 Home Theater System remote to work with my Sony blu-ray disc player (BDP-S185/BX18). It looks like the Onkyo remote is specifically the RC-799M.

Answer
BD/DVD is preprogrammed with the remote control code for controlling a component that supports the RIHD (limited to some models). The component must be able to receive remote control commands via RIHD and be connected to the AV receiver via HDMI.

Use the following remote control codes:

32910 / 33001 / 31612:
Blu-ray Disc/DVD player with RIHD

The RIHD supported by the AV receiver is the CEC system control function of the HDMI standard.

So what Onkyo are saying is that the remote isn't a conventional IR programmable remote. What it does instead is use the HDMI feature called CEC. This is control via the HDMI cable instead of IR. The Blu-ray player must also support CEC, which Sony call it "Bravia Sync". You'll need to make sure that Bravia Sync is switched on in the Blu-ray player menus if it supports the feature. http://esupport.sony.com/docs/imanual/NA/EN/2a-2/brsync_uc.html

Do universal remotes also operate Blu Ray players?

Marqk

I have a Curtis Blu Ray player which I love but for some reason the remote doesn't operate the volume properly or sometimes the play button doesn't work so I am thinking of buying a universal remote

Answer
Try putting new batteries first, sometimes that will solve the problem many people ruin their remotes by pressing harder and harder on the buttons when what they really need to do is replace the batteries first...many universal remotes will also work with blu ray players usually right on the box it will tell you what blu ray players it can control....

How can I program my toshiba TV remote to control my blu-ray player?

Joe

I bought a Toshiba 22" flat-screen today with remote control model CT-90325. I bought a blu-ray player but the remote was missing. How can I program the TV remote to control the blu-ray to avoid the hassle of returning it or buying a new remote?

Answer
Joe, you need a learning or a remote that controls the other components or you will have to buy one.Look up the info online for the proper info,Both answers have good points.Either return it and be easy,or if there is a reason you cant, the info will be online if you have no manual.Or buy a cheap universal remote dude.
