What is the best blu-ray player with wifi on the market right now?

N

Not a playstation 3 or laptop

Answer
The best blu ray disc player in the market for the entry level is the Panasonic BD-60 price now under $180 at Best Buy. The mid range players are Panasonic BD-55 $399(replaced by the 80), Samsung P3600 $399, OPPO BDP-83 $499 and the Diego Mo xi $799, the Panasonic and Samsung price is lower now. December issue compared the Samsung, LG and the Sony. You can read the reviews on line at Home Theater Magazine along with other products you might be interested in. Hope this will help you out.

Can I use my NETGEAR WG111v3 as a wifi adapter for my sony blu ray player?

Marc

I have a NETGEAR WG111v3 that I used for my old laptop. I don't need it anymore but I need a wifi adapter for my sony blu ray player and I don't feel like spending $70 for one.

Answer
No.

First, you never bothered to tell us if your Sony Blu ray player has a USB port of not. If it doesn't (and I suspect it does not), then the entire question would seem to be pointless, right?

However, even if the blu ray player does have a USB port, it will not provide the same functiuonality a USB port provides on a computer. These things usually come with a CD that you must use to first load device driver software and the device driver software is tightly coupled to the hardware.

You would not be able to load any of that on a USB port that exists on a blu ray player.

Does the Wifi dongle for the Samsung 3600 Blu-ray Player work with the Samsung 1600 Blu-ray player?

Drey

I'm buying a blu-ray player tomorrow. My friend is giving me a wi-fi dongle that came with his Samsung 3600 Blu-ray player cause he doesn't plan to use it. I do, but can I use it with the Samsung 1600 model?

Answer
The 1600 will not connect to the internet for streaming movies, the 3600 will

So you won't have a usb port to make the blu ray work wireless

Buy the 3600, the dongle costs $70 and you have a free one. If you do, you will have a blu ray player that can receive netflix, blockbuster, youtube and pandora radio. It's worth the extra money

Blu-ray player?

tony h

hey guys

what is the best Blu-Ray player in the market?

thanks

Answer
one that can play BOTH blu-ray and HD DVD. ps3 is definately not the best BLU RAY player, but it is way more than just a blu ray player(plays games, free wifi). plus, it is the cheapest blu ray player (for some weird reason), so it definately is the best.

Q. Ok so i'm lloking to by this LG Blu-ray player with built in wifi and I have some questions because I have no Idea how they work. I have a 32' Emerson LED Flatscreen TV

1.) How do they work?
2.) What do they do? What can you do with them?
3.) Do you need to have internet to use the wifi?
4.) Will it work with my tv?
5.) Can you browse the internet on your tv with it?
6.) Can you connect a laptop to it and use the wifi

I know a lot of question but i'm 15 and not very tech savy when it comes to Blu-ray players
Thanks!

Answer
2.) What do they do? What can you do with them? It's really depends on what kinda app come with it. Usually netflix, vudu movies (with vudu you can buy and rent movies), probably YouTube and pandora

3.) Do you need to have internet to use the wifi? Yes, you will not be able to use the apps like netflix without internet

4.) Will it work with my tv? Yes you will probably need a hdmi cable if it doesn't come with it, witch it usually doesn't . It will probably come with 3 cables yellow red and white, but the get a good picture you will need hdmi

5.) Can you browse the internet on your tv with it? Most DVD player do not have that feature so probably not just YouTube

6.) Can you connect a laptop to it and use the wifi? No, but there are other things that can do that like Apple TV

looking for good blu ray player?

bssmx

Should be around $20-$50 dollars. I already have a roku so NO WIFI. Thanks in advance. Winner gets points!

Answer
I bought MAGNAVOX NB500MG9I blu-ray player several months ago and I have to say it's the best blu-ray player I've ever owned. It has amazing picture quality. I've tried some other blu-ray players and they either died in a couple months or they had decent picture, but none of them was as good as this player! It's a good looking player too very sleek and stylish. I've very glad I bought this item.

What is a decent Blu Ray Player to buy?

The Nights

Im looking for my first blu ray player. I would like wifi, but no 3d. Something that has decent loading speed. And I'd Like to keep it fairly cheap without sacrificing quality. Any suggestions?

Answer
Believe it or not the Sony PS 3 is still the buy in blu-ray players. It takes some time to properly setup all the audio video setting in the menu (which makes a big difference in the picture quality) but its a good player. You can set it up for auto-play just insert and starts playing. The only other thing is it uses a bluetooth remote which must be purchased separately.

Will a wifi blu ray player work with my old crt tube tv?

Assuming i used component cables (because this tv doesnt have hdmi), would the blu ray player and the wifi work on the tv? Or does it need to be a high def flat panel tv?

Answer
Newer Blu Ray players do not have analog (including component) video outputs. I doubt if you will find any new ones with it.

I recently bought a refurbished model just because the old design had analog video out. Finding one with both analog out and built in WiFi seems unlikely, but I didn't look for one.
