A high end blu ray player or a $4000 high end desktop computer?
The computer would have the fastest processor, dual GTX680 graphics cards, the best sound card for music/movies, and overheating will not be a problem.

And there are ways to eliminate most programs that will slow down the video.

I would say if your majority purpose for the computer would be to watch movies then I would get the blu ray player and I would get this one the Oppo Bdp-93 or BDP-95 499.00 999.00 respectively. They are the 2 blu-ray players on the market. I wanna get a good low priced Blu-Ray Player. I've been looking at this one since it is only $79.99. But all the reviews on it are 3/5 Stars or less. But all the reviews complain about is the streaming services.

First off, I could care less about streaming movies from it. I have Netflix on my Xbox 360 and I don't use Hulu or Amazon Movies, which the player supposedly has apps for.

I'm looking for a Blu-Ray Player. I just need it to play Blu-Rays and connect to the Internet when I need to update the Firmware. That is all. Wil this one do?

IF you want a basic to middle level one then the Sony BDPS185 is a good for that area. But I always think Sony is over rated.

IF you want a Blu-Ray Player that put out real good picture then go for the premium to high end ones.These are the ones I recomend

Recommendations for high-end Blu-ray players?

Hi, looking for reviews, comparisons, recommendations for high-end blu ray players. I have a Denon 791 AV receiver with Energy Take Classic speaker system. My budget is $500 to $1000

Requirements for the player.

- First requirement: upcoversion from standard definition regular DVDs is a critical requirement since I have a number of such DVDs
- First requirement: excellent audio
- Second requirement: Netflix streaming and 3D
- Third requirement: wi-fi

Is Oppo BDP-93 the best given these requirements (I understand it does not have wi-fi, however, since that requirement is third on my list I can live without it)?

The Oppo has wireless, it is a fantastic universal player, can't go wrong with it.

From the BDP-93 spec page:

Q. Can someone point me to a Blu-Ray DVD Player that is Region Free, and that also has the DivX Codec built in?

There are only 2 manufacturer that I know of that makes a universal Blu Ray disc player. The Pioneer Elite and the OPPO 93. The Pioneer Elite can be purchase online at Best Buy and the OPPO 93 directly from the manufacturer and there is no discount from the price of $499. Hope this will help you out.

Oppo are pretty darn good...I have never read a negative review of an Oppo, all the people who own then and the people who test and review them have nothing but praise...they are not cheap a BDP 93 will set you back $500 but there are other players that cost more a lot more even a few oppo models that cost more....

I'm planning on getting a blu-ray player soon and I was wondering what one I should buy. My price range is between 100 - 150, but I'm not sure what player is a good player. So if you could send me links to one or tell me that'd be helpful and also I'd like the player to have wifi to stream netflix off of.

The young workers they know how to do it and which ones are easy and which are not. From what I know Sony is some what hard to do. They follow by the rules of the movie studios on region free. Even IF you find out how to do it for your Sony model online. Like IF it say you need which remote and how to do. You got to have that one, not even your expansive or some what cheap one will do.
