blu ray player burner image
MARIANA P
I have no clue about blu-ray players, we are about to buy our first one. I read stuff online that sound Chinese to me. This is what I got so far: you can play blu-ray and normal dvds in it. Thats all I understand. What else can I do with my blu-ray player? I read something about storing data. THANKS! I know, I sound very dummy.
Answer
If you want to store data on a Blu-ray disc, you need a Blu-ray burner. As far as what kind of data you can burn to a Blu-ray disc, you can burn anything to the disc. As far as what you can do with a Blu-ray player other than watch Blu-ray and DVD and listen to CD's, that depends on the Blu-ray disc player you get. Some of them connect to the internet and play streaming movies from Netflix and Amazon. Again it depends on the model of your Blu-ray disc player but the main thing you do with it is to watch movies.

Does my Dell Inspiron 1525 have a Blu Ray Player?
ebss
I bought this Inspirton 1525 last December.
And I want to know if it has a blu ray player already installed.
Answer
Does the CD/DVD rom say "blu ray" on it with a little logo?
"Intel Celeron M 550 (2.00GHz, 1MB Cache, 533MHz FSB)
Windows Vista Home Basic
15.4" WXGA (1280x800) Widescreen Display
2GB RAM DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz
Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
160GB SATA 5400rpm Hard Drive
Internal 56K Modem and Integrated Ethernet 10/100 Network Card
**********8X Dual-layer DVD+/-RW Optical Drive****************
Dell Wireless 1390 (802.11b/g 54 Mbps)
Media card 8 in 1 card reader
Input and Output Ports: 4 USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, IEEE 1394a, RJ11,
RJ45, 2 headphone, 1 microphone, 1 ExpressCard 54mm slot, 3 mini-
card slots, consumer IR, S-Video
6-cell Lithium Ion Battery
Unless you custom ordered it i doubt it came with a blu-ray player. You can pick one up online, in the laptop form factor for about 189.99 to 239.99$ depending on where you shop
External full sized burners, USB interface run about 169.99-200.00$
Your intergrated video card "Intel Graphics Media Accellerator X3100" May also not be fast enough for blu ray playback, Could end up with Chops, lag and tessellation errors since its the bottom o' the bin VGA card.
But it is a dell afterall :P
