Are there any 3D blu-ray players that also stream amazon instant video?

Lenababix3

I just got a 3D tv so I'm looking for a 3D blu-ray but I want one that can stream amazon instant video. I don't really care about Hulu or netflix since I have an apple tv and I don't use them as much as amazon anyway.

Answer
PS3 I believe is 3D now and I know it streams Amazon, I do everyday.

Netflix streaming blu ray player..?

GIBBLWE

I'm looking for a device that streams blu ray, or hd netflix wirelessly, it doesn't necessarily need to play actual discs, i just want to stream netflix. If you could please provide a link to the cheapest, best working one, that would be just swell. Easy 10 points!

Answer
Stream Blu Ray? don't think that is possible. On the other hand, a number of devices will stream Netflix and a number of other things. One is the Roku box from http://www.roku.com It can stream Netflix, Amazon Video, Pandora, blib.tv, twit.tv, revision3, flickr, and the list is growing. Prices are around $100 for the HD one, $130 for the wireless version.

Hulu plus on Panasonic Viera Cast Blu Ray player.?

calicochas

I have a Panasonic DMPBD45 blu ray player which has Viera cast and it allows me to stream Netflix and use Amazon.com and other programs. However, it does not have a Hulu Plus option, but I have heard the newer panasonic players do have this option. Is there a way to download Hulu Plus onto my blu ray player if it didn't come stock when I bought the player.

Answer
The newer blu ray players by Panasonic do not support Hulu Plus either. Only Sony and Samsung players have Hulu Plus right now.

Do you need Blu Ray Player to use Netflix?

Steven

Please be descriptive with your answer and how netflix works to be considered for best answer

Answer
No, you don't need a blu ray player. There are different ways you can stream things instantly from netflix. One way is through your computer, where you just go to netflix on your computer, type in what you want to watch, and if it comes instantly, just click play and you can watch it on a computer, the only requirment being that you need internet or wifi. You can also stream through the wii. To do this, you will need to download the netflix channel, which is free in the channel store, which is already installed in the wii. Your wii will also need to be hooked up to the internet via wifi. There are also other streaming devices through which you can get netflix, such as the roku box from amazon. This is a small box that needs to be hooked up via wifi, and you download the netflix channel from the channel store for free. Roku also has other channel options, such as the amazon instant video channel, where you can rent of buy movies to be streamed to your tv.

Tommy

When searching for a good quality Blu-Ray player that also streams apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc., I can only seem to find older models (2009, 2010, 2011). Does anyone have any recommendations (or links) for good quality players that also stream? If not, would you recommend just getting a Roku 3???

Thanks for any knowledgable feedback.

What kind of blu-ray player should I buy?

Dylan

I'm looking into getting a new blu-ray player. My plans are to walk into best buy and look for one. I'm not really sure what my price range should be and I hear most blu-ray players are cheap now. I really just want to be able to stream netflix from it and watch movies in good quality. It'd help me if you could tell me what too look for when buying one and what brand would be the best buy.

Answer
Make sure it has netflix, amazon, etc, connectivity. Only some have that capability.
And you probably want one with 3D capability.
Pick a name brand like Sony or similar.

One feature (important to me anyway) is how long it takes to start playing a Blu-ray movie. The sony model I have takes about 5 minutes, really bad.

Go online and look for reviews.

What do i need to make connect my Blu-ray player with out cable?

on Panasonic Blu Ray Netflix Connection Problems
blu ray player that streams netflix and amazon image

Blessed Ar

My Blu-ray play has a built in Ethernet port and it comes with Netcast and Netflix unlimited streaming but the thing is my Router is in another room and i have no telephone line in my lounge.

So i need something to bridge the connection since i do not want to run an Ethernet cable all through my house in order to connect it.

What is something i can find at wal-mart that i can get?

Answer
If your router is wireless then you can simply add a bridge which will convert the ethernet port of the bluray player from hardwired to wireless so it can communicate wirelessly to the router.
Something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WET54G-Wireless-G-Ethernet-Bridge/dp/B00008WMBT/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1248622375&sr=8-3

I don't think Walmart carries this kind of stuff, but if you don't want to order it online I know BestBuy does.

What Blu Ray players are compatible with DVDs?

Stark

I'm wanting to purchase a Blu Ray player, but don't want to get rid of my DVDs. Is there a player that can play both formats?

Answer
All of them will.

And most of them will do the up-conversion in the player if you hook up with HDMI cables. This tends to give you a slightly better picture than if you let the HDTV do the conversion.

My advice: Go to www.bestblueraydeals.com for discounted prices from Amazon merchants.

Get your HDMI cables by searching Amazon for "Media Bridge". These run $9-$20 each

Now - there are some options with BluRay:

* Basic players
* Players with optional $90 dongles to make them wireless
* Players with wireless and apps like Netflix/Hulu
* Players that support 3D

My Panasonic has 8 apps (Netflix, etc.)

For $99 I bought a Western Digital TV Live box that has 28 apps and lets me plug in a flash drive or USB hard drive and can play most computer video files.

I suggest you get a basic BluRay player and not spend the extra for Wireless or Apps. Buy one of the dedicated "Media Servers" like the WD unit, Roku, etc. for your streaming needs. The Media Servers tend to have more options, get updated more frequently and ... let you play computer files.

Some BluRay players do have a USB jack and claim to play computer video files - but they only play a few file types if they are created in the right resolution and most of the players or televisions will NOT play from a USB hard drive. The little Media Servers do a much better job. (Some people rip their entire DVD library to a USB hard drive - then just use that rather than disks.)

Hope this helps.

MARIANA P

I have no clue about blu-ray players, we are about to buy our first one. I read stuff online that sound Chinese to me. This is what I got so far: you can play blu-ray and normal dvds in it. Thats all I understand. What else can I do with my blu-ray player? I read something about storing data. THANKS! I know, I sound very dummy.

Answer
If you want to store data on a Blu-ray disc, you need a Blu-ray burner. As far as what kind of data you can burn to a Blu-ray disc, you can burn anything to the disc. As far as what you can do with a Blu-ray player other than watch Blu-ray and DVD and listen to CD's, that depends on the Blu-ray disc player you get. Some of them connect to the internet and play streaming movies from Netflix and Amazon. Again it depends on the model of your Blu-ray disc player but the main thing you do with it is to watch movies.
