I just bought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on blu ray, but it wont got to the main menu. When I click menu on my remote it goes to this thing showing clips from it, and when it's done (it takes 2 minutes and 5 seconds) it goes black and every button execpt the eject and on/off buttons work. Someone please help me!

It might be that you need to update the firmware of your blu ray disc player. Check the manufacturer and see if there is a firmware update for your model. If you don't need an update then the disc you purchased is defective. Return it and exchange it for another disc. Those bargain price blu ray disc player are not very reliable and they do not last. why does my LG blu-ray player randomly turn off/on?

At random my LG blu-ray player (purchased about a year ago) has been randomly turning itself on/off and ejecting the disc tray. It doesn't matter where it's plugged it, whether it's connected to the internet, or whether there is a disk plugged into it. I can't find any information on this particular problem.

Hmm, without the model number I can't do any research on your particular unit.
However, I can make a few assumptions. The first question to ask is if your player is plugged into a surge protector with RFI protection. This would eliminate the possibility that the player is receiving line noise or a temporary spike in voltage which could cause this.
The other possibility (altho rare) is that the batteries in the remote are low and are sending random infrared signals to the player.
Other than these two things I can't think of anything else other than a hardware or firmware problem in the player itself. If it is firmware, it is possible that LG has released a firmware update for your player which you can download, burn to DVD and then load into the player. LG does release firmware for various players and PC burners from time to time to address various issues
