I'm going to get a Sony PS3(PlayStation 3) from US to India, but am not aware of the compatibility with Indian Blu-rays discs and ps3 games and with the LCD/LED monitors that are available in Indian. Can anyone guide me regarding this? Thanks much in advance.

Answer
If you are using HDMI, you won't have any problems with any PS3 games.

If you are not using HDMI, you will have problems with a few older PS3 games. But most will still work.

HD is not region specific, which is why its not a problem if you are using HDMI.

Links for games in PAL regions working on the U.S. consoles.

Blu-Ray movies aren't as strict on region coding as DVDs. A lot are region free and will play anywhere, but some movies have region locks and won't play in players of other regions.

You should buy a power converter capable of at least 400 watts if you're buying a Slim model just because its not really confirmed whether or not the Slim has a universal PSU like most Fatboy PS3s do.

Vizio 32" LED will it work in India if I take it from US?

I am planning to take my Vizio 32" LED SMART TV to India. Just wanted to know if it works there , because in India power will be 240Hz . Do I require any converter then ?

Answer
No, it won't work.

India uses 240V, US uses 120V. So you'll need a power converter.

India uses PAL, US uses NTSC, so you'll need a video converter. One for each device you want to connect to the TV (one for the blu-ray/DVD player, one for the cable or satellite or antenna, one for the game console...)

I don't know what broadcast standards India uses but it's a sure bet the US doesn't use the same ones, so you'll need an external tuner (and video converter for that as well.)

By the time you add up the costs of all these converters, plus the cost of shipping the TV to India in the first place, you'll find it would have just been cheaper, and easier, to buy a new 32" Vizio LED HDTV in India.
