If I have a 3D tv, will a Blu Ray disc player play the new 3D movies or do I need a special player to play the 3D movies?

I just got a 3d tv and 3d blu ray player. I want to get some 3d movies to watch I have avatar 3d but I want to see others. I don't want to buy them because they are just way to expensive where can I rent 3d movies? I don't really have a blockbuster near me I do have a netflix account and a redbox near me. Any idea?
