What advantage would a Blu-ray player be for a Smart 3-D TV, please?

I have bought a 3-D Smart TV and have kept my old PVR and DVD player. My area does not changeover until 18th April re HD channels.

What features would a Blu-ray add to my TV please?

Well - what source of 3D material do you have? A 3D BluRay player would give you access.

And what other source of HD video do you have? A BluRay player will play your DVD's and let you play HD video from a BluRay disk.

Get a BluRay player and a budget HDMI cable.

Im have interest in the lg 42lw5700 cinema 3d smart tv but i have read plenty of opinions on the web that the smart tv features are bad, so im like undecided the samsung smart tv features looks great,

can you give me your opinion about the tv but specially the smart tv features?

The smart TV features on the LG are actually pretty lackluster as is the Samsung. Look into Google TV's and Google Blu-ray players, they are powered by intel (faster performance) and can download Android apps (better apps than Samsung and LG)
