I need to buy a new laptop and my budget is around $1500 max. I was looking at these two laptops and really can't decide which one to buy. I was hoping if someone could help me decide which one is better (both cost same)

Answer
This sort of depends on what you plan to use your computer for.

If you want to play games on your laptop, use any sort of complicated program like Avid Media Composer, then do not buy an apple product. Also, if you like to be in control of the details on the computer, like how it runs, and any other sort of specifics, go for the PC. Any kind of PC is better for someone who knows about computers and likes for it to meet specific needs or wishes. They are usually more flexible with your choices, though they aren't as pretty as Macs.

I own a Macbook Pro currently, and I think its nice. It runs smoothly and it functions well. Sometimes it gets a little irritating because I don't like the filing system, but I have gotten used to it. Macs are good for people who don't need to control their computer a lot, and they just want it to do a few things like have itunes, hold a calendar, write research papers. It can do more complicated things (I have Civilization IV downloaded on it as well as the Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro). I can have one or two of those open at a time before it starts being difficult. Macs also have a tendency to run extremely smoothly, and then on occasion there is a problem and it immediately crashes or something where you have to take it in. But you can take it to the Genius Bar if you have an Apple store in the area to get it taken care of. It can also be a little bit more difficult to fix problems by yourself.

The myths that Macs don't crash is a lie, but it is true that they don't very often, and they do run well, especially because there haven't been many viruses going through their systems yet.

Is this a good laptop?
