They are from the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 underwater and out of the water camera and i have burned them to a DVD-R disc through my computer and am looking to watch on tv on our Sony Blu-Ray player. I have tried loading the disc but it displays a message saying that the disc format cannot be played. What do I do? Do I have to buy a different disc or use a program to specially format the disc for dvd use?

What is the difference between streaming players, and a blu ray player?

Lindsey H

I'm new to all of this. We recently bought an LCD tv, and have a netflix account and would like to stream movies from our computer onto our TV. Can a blu ray player also do this? I'm not sure which one we should buy: any of the streaming players, or just a blu ray player. What is the difference? Also, our LCD TV is HD, so will we need a blu ray player to get that HD effect? Thanks!

Answer
Buy a simple Blu-Ray with 1080p upconvert facility. So that u can see ur old DVDs also to near HD quality. It will cost u under $99. And get a 15feet HDMI cable from Dollar Store for around $10. See ur netflix movies or anything on net on TV via HDMI cable connection (Computer to TV)

Austin

Ok, so I currently have a regular HDTV, but I found a 3D blu ray player for cheap and want to pick it up for when I get a 3D TV in the future. My main question is if I could connect it to my HDTV and use it as a standard 2D blu ray player in the meantime? I know I need the 3D TV to watch 3D movies, but I would like to watch 2D blu rays on it.

Why do we have to update blu ray players?

Sally Cat

I never had to update my VHS player, nor did I ever have to update my DVD player either.

However, when it comes to blu ray players, they eventually stop playing movies because you are required to update them. Why? What is the purpose?

Answer
It mostly has to do with copyrights protection, most of the new Java that has been developed has been put in place to assure Copy rights protection, more than to enhance the visual experiene although some updates have been done to assure better menu access and added features...and just to be able to accept the size of the data involved...

How to connect Blu Ray player to monitor with sound?

Swishbig

I have a 23'' LED HP monitor but no sound and I want to hook up my blu ray player to it so I can watch movies on it. How do I get sound through it? The monitor is currently hooked up to my desktop using vga cables and there is 1 hdmi cable slot open and it has speakers connecting from the monitor to the desktop.

Answer
Well, if the BluRay has an HDMI, then connect it to your monitor using an HDMI cable. If it doesn't have HDMI output, then you'll probably have to get a video adapter cable to convert the output to the VGA input of the monitor, then connect the audio outputs to the speakers, which may also need an adapter cable.

Without detailed info on what the make and model of the monitor and BluRay device is and what connections they have, it's impossible to say for sure what you'll need to do.

can i hook a computer monitor up to a receiver via hdmi and get it to work with other things connected to my receiver such as a blu-ray player, xbox 360, or PS3
Do you know what kind of adaptor i would need for this

Answer
You have two types of HDMI connections on a receiver one is in the other is out, your computer would have to be connected to an in on the receiver while the other component would have to be connected to an out some receivers have many in hdmi connections but only have one out and others may have two out...so you would have to have to have a receiver with four out HDMI connections one for the TV one for the blu ray and one for the x box and another for the PS3 Also al your components would have to have in HDMI most blu rays only have hdmi out same with ps3 and xbox

How would you rate Playstation 3 as a blu-ray player?

codwhy047

I am considering asking for one for my birthday and already have a XBox 360. The main reason i would ask for a PS3 is because of its blu-ray capabilities. My friend told me that it is not a very good blu-ray player, so I am just curious.

Answer
It'll hit 9 of 10 if you have a Blu-ray remote.

Why are my LG Blu-Ray Player apps glitchy/buffering?

blu ray player youtube app image

Jennifer

I have an LG BH6720S 5.1 Channel Home Theater System with Blu-ray Player and I love it except for when I use the "built-in" YouTube app. It doesn't matter if I'm paired to devices like smartphones or an iPad, the playback on the TV VERY often buffers and stalls playback to a maddening degree. (It took over 3 minutes to play the first 40 seconds of a video due to excessive buffering.

I have Comcast high speed internet run through a NetGear wi-fi router and the router is the type which "splits" the speed. My speed test shows I'm running between 28-30Mbps on my internet.

Other available apps on the Blu-Ray player include Netflix and Hulu and I have none of these issues. Is there anything I can do to fix/make better the YouTube buffering problem?

I have powered down and unplugged/re-plugged the unit and even done a (scary!) plug pull while the player was powered up (out of desperation, and I hated doing it).

I know this is a long post and I thank those who read it through and try to help. I wanted to give as much info as I could to better help YOU help ME.

Thank you!

Answer
Netflix and Hulu have a download logic program that determines the speed of your connection and the amount of buffer you will need for your particular speed; in order for the movie to play all the way through...so the movie will not start untill the proper amount of buffer has downloaded determined in real time....you tube has so such program so the video starts when ever....what you need to do is increase the buffer from the start of the video; wait a longer time for the buffer to download before starting the video, you may have to manually pause the video in order for enough buffer to download....through trial and error you can discover what the proper amout of buffer will be.

I have a semi proffessional video camera that uses hdv tapes, whats the best way to transfer them?

Sal

whats the best way to transfer them for editing and then putting it on dvd so that I retain the image and sound quality?
sorry, a bit new to all this. thnaks if you can help:)

Answer
Connect a firewire cable to the camcorder's DV port and the computer's firewire port.

USB won't work. USB-to-firewire cable/converteradapter things won't work.

Launch the DV/HDV capable video editor and import or capture the video.

This will be uncompressed, 1080i, high definition video. 60 minutes of this will consume about 44 gig of your computer's hard drive space.

After editing, you can export or render to whatever you want or need. For uploading to a video sharing site (like YouTube), an h.264 encoded MOV or AVI file at high quality is good.

For a regular standard definition DVD, you can use that same h.264 file with a DVD rendering app (like iDVD or DVD Maker) to make a DVD-player readable standard definition disc (VOB file).

For high definition video, you should render out to a "Blu Ray" format (MTS) file and burn to a Blu Ray disc using a Blu Ray burner (LaCie makes good ones). This disc will playback only in a Blu Ray player.

Since you did not tell us which camcorder, computer, operating system or video editor, there's not much more detail we can provide...

Here are a few of the things you can do with InfraRecorder:
* Create data, audio, video, and mixed-mode discs
* Record dual-layer DVDs
* Four methods for erasing discs
* Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE)
* Scan SCSI/IDE bus for devices and capabilities
* Create disc copies using temporary disc image

Mix, edit and share videos online
There's no shortage of video-sharing sites nowadays. You can upload
or watch videos on sites like YouTube and Yahoo! Video.
However, most video sites offer little flexibility. To edit or mix
clips, you need your own software.
Jumpcut is a video-sharing site that gives you more control. In fact,
it lets you take over others' videos as well.
As with other sites, you can upload your own clips to Jumpcut. It
provides an online video editor, so you can cut and remix your clips.
You also can upload still photos and arrange a slide show. Jumpcut can
import pictures from Flickr, the popular photo-sharing site.

You can upload videos and photos through the site or via e-mail. In
e-mail, simply include your artwork as an attachment. Jumpcut will
automatically add it to your account.

Jumpcut allows you to remix other members' videos. You can reorder the
scenes or borrow footage for your own videos. The original version
stays intact, so you won't step on anyone's toes. You can restrict
your clips from others if you wish.

Jumpcut is still in beta (testing), so it may have a few kinks. It
recently became part of Yahoo!. That means you can join Jumpcut using
a Yahoo! ID.

Should I get my son an xbox 360 or a ps3 for his twelth birthday?

Michael Tu

I don't know weather to get my 12 year old son a ps3 or an xbox 360. He says he wants an xbox 360 because all of his frineds have an xbox what do you think i should get him?

Answer
I would suggest to follow your son for buying the Xbox 360 because it is the best console ever made for gaming and he would love playing the most popular game n Xbox. right now is Halo reach. But if he likes watching blu-ray movies and playing online for free I would suggest the PS3.

The Xbox 360 is a total media center that allows users to play, network, rip, stream and download all types of media, including high-definition movies, music, digital pictures and game content.

BestSelling XBox 360 Console Bundle:

See here for a very good article from an actual owner, see how he says about XBox 360:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R3A70CW7HLSGIU/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003O6JJKY&nodeID=&linkCode=&tag=blwos-20

The Xbox 360 can also display pictures and perform slideshows of photo collections with various transition effects, and supports audio playback, with music player controls accessible through the Xbox 360 Guide button.

The Xbox 360 is available in three standard variants; the "Xbox 360 Arcade", the "Xbox 360 Premium", and the "Xbox 360 Elite". There is also the latest Xbox 360 Slim, is just the same with the great Xbox 360 experience with added features like a new sleek smaller form factor case and controller with matching color scheme, 250 GB internal hard drive. This enormous hard drive gives you more than enough room to install all your games and download endless content from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Wi-Fi is built-in for easier connection to the world of entertainment on Xbox LIVE, where HD movies and TV stream in an instant.

Some of the most top Xbox360 games are:
Halo Reach, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Half Life 2: The Orange Box, Gears of War 2, Shadow Complex, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, Left 4 Dead 2,
Devil May Cry 4, etc.

While Playstation 3 is designed for users who can play games in high definition using Blu-ray disc, connect to the Playstation Network for free online gaming with friends, download demos, trailers and games from the Playstation store, store music, video and photos, and browse the internet as you would on your PC.

BestSelling PS3 Console Set:
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-160-GB/dp/B003VUO6H4/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1285325717&sr=1-2&tag=blwos-20

Here is a very good comment from an actual player of PS3:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R2RRROXYUWTDWN/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B003VUO6H4&nodeID=&linkCode=&tag=blwos-20

PlayStation 3 is not only a video game console, but also designed to be a digital entertainment device or home-entertainment computer. It features in its special CPU called the Cell Processor, which can be updated for different performance needs! Besides, it incoporates marvelous memory capabilities which enable you to play games and watch movies at the same time. With PS3, you may enjoy a luxurious visual-dinner for its support of high-definition. Another benefit is that does not require to pay "double fees" to play online games and download videos.

Some of the most popular PS3 games are:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , Red Dead Redemption, God of War III, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, LittleBigPlanet, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Demon's Souls, Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed II, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 etc.

Happy Buying! Most of all Happy Birthday to your Son. He will appreciate everthing. The best gift ever.

How do you watch Blu-ray movies on Windows Vista?

Jessika M

I just go REPO! The Genetic Opera today, and I have the Blu-ray edition. I was just wondering what software I can use to play the movie on. Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player?

Answer
Vista (Ultimate) can view regular DVD movies without the add-on codec (i.e. a program to play movies), but it will not do BR.

Not only you will need a BR drive, you'll need a very fast computer (at least a dual-core), plenty of RAM and a dedicated graphic card (not the built-in one on the mother board).

PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra and PowerDVD 8 Ultra can play BR movies (7.3 can play HD-DVD movies, as well).

----------------

This is what it says on the box:

Due to the high computation requirement for Blu-ray discs, PowerDVD playback requires a high performance PC platform that is capable of maintaining 40 Mbps transferring of data. It is recommended that you use a system with at minimal of Intel Dual Core 3.2Ghz processors and 2GB RAM system memory (Quad Core CPU is supported.) Discrete graphics solution is also required with at least 350Mhz clock rate with 256MB VRAM. Even if you met minimal requirements, you may experience some video quality drop, frame drops or lower performance. It is recommended that all non-critical applications be closed before beginning Blu-ray Disc playback. Full CPU clock-rate is always reserved for PowerDVD Blu-ray disc playback and cannot be disabled.

Download their program to see if your system can handle a BR movie.

Can a Samsung HT-D5300 play Blu-rays that run at 50Hz?

Captain

I can't seem to find a whole lot of information on this particular model, despite actually owning one. That said, I did notice that most Samsung blu-ray players and home theater setups do in fact run them, albeit many will actually run 50Hz discs at 60Hz.

Answer
Blu ray disc are not 50HZ or 60HZ. The HZ is the Alternating current of the electricity. The US standard is 60 HZ. This is not the same as 24 fps on the blu ray disc movies. Hope this will help you out.

Is there something I can look for in a blu-ray player so that I know it will be able to be hooked up to his surround sound system? I think he wants to hook the speakers up to the blu-ray player instead of his dvd player.

Answer
Unfortunately, he will not be able to swap his DVD player with the Blu-ray player. What he has now is a HTIB (Home theater In a Box) and those do not allow for you to mix-n-match parts, so he will need to keep his multi-disc player as it is what is powering his speakers.

That being said he should be able to add a blu-ray player and simply connect the audio from the blu-ray player to the DVD/Surround sound system. What you should look for is the highest quality audio connection that he has on his DVD/surround sound system. Ideally it should have a digital optical connection looks like this.

http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/lifestyle/2001/hToslinkJack.jpeg

Or he should have a digital coax connector which looks like this.

http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/graphics/infolib/homelib/hCoaxialDigitalJack.jpg

If his system has the first connector, then virtually every blu-ray player will work. If his system has the second connection I listed, then most, but not all blu-ray players will work. Find out which one his DVD/Surround sound receiver has get a store associate help you find a blu-ray player with the same connection.

Whenever he decides to upgrade his system next, I'd recommend he stay away from surround sound systems with built-in DVD/Blu-ray players. Consider this home much larger is his DVD/Surround sound system than a regular DVD player. Not much I bet. So how much of the electronics are truly dedicated to audio quality. Not much.

P.S. I also second the recommendation for a Panasonic Blu-ray player as I also have a 1st Gen player (built around 2006) that outperforms some of the newer players. Panasonic just makes quality Blu-ray players.

How to connect Blu Ray to Sound System and HDTV?

Ben T

How do you properly connect a Blu Ray player to the sound system and HDTV?

We have one outlet for the HDMI cable. Where do we connect this to so the sound comes from the sound system and the picture is HD?

Currently, we have the HDMI cable to the receiver. We have the red/yellow/white cables attached to the TV. The sound works fine, but the picture from the Blu Ray just doesn't seem right...? Or am I being weird?

How should we connect it so we get the optimum settings for both?

Answer
Your Blu-ray player should has a digital Optical on it. Use the HDMI and connect it to the TV and run the Digital optical cable from your blu-ray player to your surround sound. Digital optical will be your best option for the best sound.

The digital optical will have a RED light shinning through when your blu-ray is on. If you see a RED light then you have it. Ebay it for a good deal.

What are some of the better Blu Ray players that stream Netflix?

Unfortunately, I currently have the super slow bd-p 1500 blu ray player and I am thinking of upgrading to get Netflix streaming. Thanks!

Answer
At the moment your choices are still somewhat limited, but that will be changing soon. If you want something _right_now_ you'll still be looking at the new Samsung models that load considerably faster. The BDP 1600, which replaced the 1500 model, or there is always a higher up/more expensive Samsung you could get. Or you could go with an LG. I think the Samsung would be a better choice. You could find a 1600 on Ebay for about $185. Walmart sells (online) the model 1590 which is basically a 1600 with a slightly different face to it and sells for $50 less than the 1600 in the stores. They sell for about the same in Ebay.
However, Sony just announced that they will start selling next month a new player that will stream Netflix once they have a firmware upgrade ready later this fall. ($250) No reviews yet on that model as it has just barely been announced. It will probably be similar to their 360 model or perhaps a bit better.

how do i persuade walmart to return my unopened blu ray player?

im 14, do they let teens return stuff?
i bought the blu ray player from visions elec. but i want a ps3 instead and i was wondering if walmart would let me buy a ps3 and return my blu ray player.
i cant return the blu ray player to visions because i dont have a recipt. and i got it free with a tv

Answer
Are you saying that you want Walmart to accept something you bought at another store in exchange for one of their products?

If so, it will not happen. You can't return a product to a different company than the one you bought it. For example, Gap and Banana Republic are owned by the same parent company, and they won't even let you return a Gap product to a Banana Republic store.

There is certainly no way they will let you "return" a product to a store that is completely unrelated to the store you purchased from.

Why not just return the Blu Ray player to the place you purchased it and use that money to buy a PS3?

I have been trying to set up a home theater (hdtv + blu ray player) system that will be eye catching, colors and graphics popping to the eye and with the best, sharpest resolution such that it would seem the person on the tv looks like he's in the same room with you. I have seen displays in Best Buys, Circuit City, etc. They were incredible, the colors popped out, the graphics and details of people were 10 times more life like then if they were in the same room as you.

I attempted to duplicate this quality. I bought an HDTV with what I thought were some of the best options you can choose - a Resolution of 1080P, a contrast resolution of 10,000 to 1, and I bought a Sylvania Blu Ray Player. I am also using the recomended HDMI Cable.

The picture is pretty good. However it is not nearly as fetching as the picture in the store. It has a grainy appearance at times (maybe because I'm sitting just 4 feet away from the 37 inch screen) The colors aren't popping as much, but more importantly, the blu ray dvds that I'm watching are not showing me a picture in which the people in the movie look 10x better than if they were in the same room with me (like how the one in the store appeared). I thought 10,000 to one was an excellent contrast ratio, and the TV is a Sharp, a name brand. I thought Sylvania (though not a name brand) was a good enough Blu Ray to deliver great picture. It has output capability of up to 1080P24.

The only things that I can think of are: maybe the setup in the store has an HDTV with like 5 billion to 1 contrast ratio? Does the brand name of the Blu Ray player make a significant difference?

Hope someone can help my nip thisone in the bud once and for all. Thanks!
I should also add that I have tested some of the best (recently made, visually stunning) Blu Ray DVDs in there and they don't look nearly as good as the store system on display.

Answer
There are a couple of things you could consider to get that picture quality you want.

Since you are 4 feet away from your TV, a 37" may be slightly too big, and I mean just slightly. Maybe a 32" would have been sufficient.

Also, I would have recommended a Samsung or Sony Blu-Ray player in terms of top quality Blu-Ray players over the Sylvania.

Is your Sharp Flat screen a Plasma or LCD? If its 10,000:1 contrast ratio on a plasma, you should be fine, I would have definitely recommended a minimum of 15,000:1 ratio if your TV is an LCD

Does your TV do 1080P @ 24 frames? You indicated your Sylvania Blu-Ray player outputs 1080p24, but does your TV display 1080p24? 24 frames per second is the film frame rate and most film sourced Bluray discs are encoded at that frame rate. 60 frames per second is the video display rate on most TVs. In simple terms, a 24p output into a TV that can display it, gives smoother motion for 99.99% of movies. That may be your artifact issues you are seeing in your poor picture quality.

One last thing, you might want to get your TV calibrated. That can get a bit expensive to get it professionally calibrated, but well worth getting it done in the end to get your TV to the EXACT color specifications to bring out the best picture quality.

Here's a link to some calibration techniques you can do for free: http://ezinearticles.com/?Give-Your-Flat-Screen-TV-Some-Calibration---For-Free!&id=862955

Blu-Ray Question? Help!?

Jose Q.

If I use Component Cables on my Blu-Ray Player will it look as good as if I were using an HDMI cable? Would there be a diference at all?

Answer
No and the only reason is the manufacture rolled over for the studio.

Component is very capable of carrying the full resolution of 1080p 24p 30p (not that different than 1080i 60i) but the studios want to make it inconvenient for you to slow down (not stop) pirates.

So it is not that the cable can't do the job just that the powers that be decided for you that HDMI is better. So that you would buy a new set that has HDMI. So that you would buy lots of cables and dink with loading a software update so they have an excuse to look at your network to find "contraband" material or software designed to copy DVDs ,etc..

If you value your privacy just use component at 1080i most will not see a huge difference since the frame rate is 60 interlaced vs. 30 progressive. If you are 20/20 vision or less you can not tell the difference.

HD Camera Videos on Imovie?

Okay. So I have the Nikon Coolpix P100. It's a digital camera but it has 1080p high def video so i use that as a camcorder. I went on a trip to New Mexico and took beautiful videos of the snow with it. When I viewed them on imovie on my macbook pro, they looked good, but not as good as in the camera. But I said "oh well."
I then used the new imovie 11 to make a movie trailer with the HD videos. However, when i burned the movie trailer, using imovie and then idvd, i burned it on a dvd-r disk. But when I played in on my blu ray player on my HD tv, the movie quality was TERRIBLE. It was grainy, a bit blurry like when you amplify a video too much, and just not good. Even the letters of the title of the movie trailer were blurry. I was dissapointed cuz on the tv, the videos looked like they were shot with a regular crappy camera.

Can you please help me and explain why this happened, AND HOW i can take advantage of my camera's beautiful HD videos? Please help. I love making films and the videos i take with the camera are great but on the tv, they were terrible.

This camera delivers great picture quality and is very easy to use.

If you are looking forward to editing and publishing your videos taken with this camera please note, at the time of North American release, software packages that can handle AVCHD digital format encoded using MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (m2ts) are only starting to show up.

The software included with this camera, Leadtools HD Writer Ver 1.0E for SD1, is capable of only basic operations such as scene preview, split, merge, and delete. Using this software you can backup your videos on a DVD-R disk, but you won't be able to play it back, unless you have one of the new Blu-ray disk players.

The software situation will improve with time, and there will be more high definition video options in the future.

To hookup this camera to a high definition display you can use provided component cables or the HDMI output (HDMI cable is not included). Standard audio, video output is also available for older TV sets (cable included).

The computer interface is USB (cable supplied); it works only when the camera is hooked up to the AC/DC adapter (included). By the way, the battery will not charge inside the camera; charge it on the adapter disconnected from the camera.

Videos and pictures are stored on an SDHC card (some SD cards can also be used, but SDHC class 2 or better are recommended). A 4 GB SDHC card (one included) is good for about 40 minutes of recording in the highest quality HF setting; this is also about as much as the stock VW-VBG130 battery can handle. For more power on the go an optional VW-VH04 battery pack holder can be used. You can use additional SDHC cards, or dump data to a laptop computer via USB cable, or use optional VW-PT2 or similar SDHC media storage device.

The battery is loaded from the bottom. When using the camera on a tripod, load the battery first.

In addition to videos, this camera can also take still pictures. The quality of still pictures is so-so with some digital artifacts showing up; but it is fine for occasional snapshots. On the positive side, the still picture trigger on this camcorder functions like on real picture cameras: you can pre-focus depressing the trigger half way.

Thanks to the powerful 3CCD sensor architecture and optical image stabilization the videos this camera takes are very good, even in sub-optimal light conditions. There is an automatic mode, and a manual mode for more advanced control. One of the features I especially like is the Grid that can be displayed for better shoot composition.

HDC-SD1 is one of the first consumer high-definition cameras from Panasonic, it's a great start and sure to please customers looking so save the moving pictures of unforgettable moments in life.

Hope you like it. Good Luck!

how does Pandora work through Blu-Ray players?

Q. I have a Blu-Ray player with YouTube, Netflix, Blockbuster, and Pandora but I have no idea how to work the Pandora. I click a station and type things in and select them but they don't show up on my tv. Help?

Answer
Pandora works the same on the blu-ray player like on the computer.
First you should make an account. I recommend getting started on your computer and making stations on your computer- it should guide you through it.
Then sign in on your tv. If you're already signed in, you should sign out and sign back in to refresh it.
Next you can make more stations. To make a station you can either type in an artist you like or a song you like. It should show you some songs and you have to choose which one you meant. Then basically Pandora takes that song and finds songs that are similar to it. You can choose if you like a song and if you do it will play it more often. If you don't like the song it won't play it on that specific station. You can skip 6 songs per hour and 12 songs per day.
And that's basically it.

Here's a website about how pandora works:

MARIANA P

I have no clue about blu-ray players, we are about to buy our first one. I read stuff online that sound Chinese to me. This is what I got so far: you can play blu-ray and normal dvds in it. Thats all I understand. What else can I do with my blu-ray player? I read something about storing data. THANKS! I know, I sound very dummy.

Answer
If you want to store data on a Blu-ray disc, you need a Blu-ray burner. As far as what kind of data you can burn to a Blu-ray disc, you can burn anything to the disc. As far as what you can do with a Blu-ray player other than watch Blu-ray and DVD and listen to CD's, that depends on the Blu-ray disc player you get. Some of them connect to the internet and play streaming movies from Netflix and Amazon. Again it depends on the model of your Blu-ray disc player but the main thing you do with it is to watch movies.

What do i need to make connect my Blu-ray player with out cable?

Blessed Ar

My Blu-ray play has a built in Ethernet port and it comes with Netcast and Netflix unlimited streaming but the thing is my Router is in another room and i have no telephone line in my lounge.

So i need something to bridge the connection since i do not want to run an Ethernet cable all through my house in order to connect it.

What is something i can find at wal-mart that i can get?

Answer
If your router is wireless then you can simply add a bridge which will convert the ethernet port of the bluray player from hardwired to wireless so it can communicate wirelessly to the router.
Something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WET54G-Wireless-G-Ethernet-Bridge/dp/B00008WMBT/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1248622375&sr=8-3

I don't think Walmart carries this kind of stuff, but if you don't want to order it online I know BestBuy does.
