I have a Sylvania 32' LCD TV [LC320SS2] and a Panasonic Blu Ray Player BD79PK. I am trying to hook up some Radioshack Wireless Headphones so that they will work with the audio coming out of my Panasonic Blu Ray Player.

The Blu Ray player does not have the required Red/White outlets that the Wireless Headphone Receiver requires to plug in to. The television only has outputs for red white and a separate yellow digital output.

Naturally I tried to plug the Wireless tower's red white plugs into my Slyvania Tv's Audio Output.

However when I do this, I get no sound because I have the HDMI plugged in for the Blu Ray. I think the HDMI just overides the Red White audio.

I can not find settings in the TV or DVD player to turn off HDMI audio. I can only get the wireless headphones to work on a regular dvd player.

How can I get the wireless headphones to work on my Blu Ray?

Answer
On the Sylvania LC320SS2 the left and right (RCA) analog audio jacks are inputs, designed to be used in conjunction with the component video inputs or PC input. (In other words, they are inputs only, not outputs.)

The only audio output on the Sylvania LC320SS the coaxial digital audio output, which outputs a Dolby compatible digital signal.

How to get HD resolution with blu-ray player on projector TV?

I just got a smart blu-ray player (LG bp220) for Christmas but I have an older projector TV (Mitsubishi ws-48313), which supports up to 1080i. The TV supports the HD with my cable box (Scientific Atlanta) through the PR/PB/Y components. I got the HDMI cable as well as a DVI adapter since my TV doesn't have an HDMI output, but it still isn't working. The blu-ray player keeps setting the resolution back to 480p (Black screen,"Resolution change!! When the screen is not visible, please press the Stop Key for 5 seconds"). I've unplugged the cable box to see if the TV just can't handle multiple HD stuff, and I've checked the TV's resolution. Please help, it looks terrible!

Answer
If you have another component video input available, try connecting the blu ray player via component. Test it with the cable box cables first. If it works, get another set of component cables.

  1. No audio from bluray player on Sony WH-1000MX3 headphones. Paired to Samsung tv. Can hear audio from the tv when playing the bluray. What is wrong?
