Can I use a Dvd player that i bought in the States or Canada (NTSC) in Europe (PAL)?

Minimouse

Answer
NTSC and PAL are totally incompatible. However, my PAL player can play NTSC discs although image is a bit skippy. So maybe your NTSC player can also play PAL dvds. However, since you'll be connecting it to a PAL TV set, you must set the player's output signal to PAL. That's the most important thing. I can do that in my PAL player. But, if it outputs NTSC to your PAL TV, no deal.

Another thing is the REGION LOCK issue. Unless you hack it to make it zone-free, it will ONLY play REGION 1 discs. In Europe you can only get Region 2 dvds, which will definitely NOT play in a region 1 player.

My advice: Buy a new player in Europe. They're VERY cheap now that Blu-Ray is coming!! You can get a decent one for less than 50 bucks.

the xbox 360 vs the ps3 debate?

Fred Sawye

Ok this fight has been going on for a long time now.
To get this straight wii is the most successful, ps3 is the most advanced, and xbox is somewhere in the middle. Neither console is perfect if they were, there would only be 1 console.

Now some of these are opinions but a lot are facts and u guys let me know what you think:

ps3 has a wider variety of games. Kid friendly games like mod nation races and little big planet just can't compare to the all T and M games of the xbox

There are recent players list, xobox marketplace/playstation store, friends lsits, gamescores, internet access, netflix, hulu, etc. all common but slightly different

Ps3 has better exclusives. Forget about halo gears of war and fable first 2 halos and first gears of war are for pc anyway.
Ps3 exclusives:
Killzone
God of war
Gran turismo 5
Mgs4
Warhawk
Lbp
Infamous

Only reason xbox has more sales in us is cuz its an american company, worlwide sony trumps

Xbox runs on dvdâs while ps3 runs on blu-ray, which mean ps3 has higher quality graphics potential
That also mean that xboxs disks, have a disk capacity of 4.7 gb, while ps3 is anywhere as of now up to 50, in the future Blu-ray disks will contain much more than that even
Mgs4 and infamous are only exclusive to ps3 because of the disk capacity issue, it couldnt fit
Also because of this xbox can play dvds while ps3 plays blu-ray which makes it worth more
And plz dont say "oh thats cuz sony pays them its all just loops"
no its not, and microsoft fan boys should talk since microsoft bought the halo name before it was even out
RROD its not fixed completely. There is still a 15% failure rate to the 8% ps3 and the 1-9% wii
Even if xbox live is better its 50 bucks a year i'd take free anyday since it still works nothing is wrong with it
Also while you just have to connect a ps3 controller and play while its recharging,
Xbox controllers run on batteries, sure you can use rechargable batteries but its still more of a hastle
Also its not hard at all to connect ps3 to the internet, it doesnât cost extra, and it took me less than a minute
Sure theres kinect, but ps3 has move which has those awsome squishy balls on the controller

Check the cnet review they rated ps3 higher than 360

Ok let me know what u thinik i wanna here some opinons

Answer
The Sony move been there done that with the wii, if you can't afford 60 bucks a year for the best online service on all systems the you have money issues. The exclusives you listed are not all that great example infamous way over rated kill zone was lame my fave games on my ps3 are uncharted series and little big planet series. Oh and fact most third party games are made for Xbox first then are ported to the PS3 and the PSN store is a joke compared to Xbox live and PS Plus is a joke and a waste of money and let's not for get the hacking on the PS3 which was down almost a month you get what you pay for. Blu ray is pretty cool can't complaint there and no I'm not a fan boy I own all 3 systems and enjoy them in different ways.
