They are from the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 underwater and out of the water camera and i have burned them to a DVD-R disc through my computer and am looking to watch on tv on our Sony Blu-Ray player. I have tried loading the disc but it displays a message saying that the disc format cannot be played. What do I do? Do I have to buy a different disc or use a program to specially format the disc for dvd use?

i have a bunch of movies on my computer and i put them all on my external hard drive and when i tried to plug it into my blu ray it doesnt show up. but when i put a movie on my flash drive it shows up. how can i get my hard drive to show up on my blu ray? and if its not possible is there any storage device for the player? i have a dynex blu ray player and i love it. it does a bunch of apps and the loading time is very fast for blu rays.

Answer
Most televisions and BluRay players cannot work with a USB based hard drive. I suspect it is something about the power requirements but I am not sure.

You probably want a small media server that works with USB HDD's like the Roku or Western Digital Live box. These box's connect directly to your HDTV with HDMI cables.
