I'm going to buy a Blu ray box set of a film series soon, and I know that I can watch regular Blu ray movies on 3D Blu-ray DVD player, but can I still watch these non-3D Blu ray movies (using a 3D Blu-ray DVD player) on a 3D TV? Please help me if you can.

Yes. A 3DTV is just an ordinary HDTV, with nothing really different about the screen.
Active shutter 3DTV's, (like Sony & Samsung), have fast enough refresh rates, (at least 120hz), for the left & right angles on a Blu-ray 3D to be flickered back & forth with smooth motion.
Passive 3DTV's, (like LG & Vizio), shine the light from the screen in 2 different polaritys for both eyes. Keep in mind, though, that your 2D Blu-ray's won't BE in 3D. Some 3DTV's have so-called 3D 'conversion' features, but there is NO TV that can do this effectively on-the-fly.

There are 5 main types of content you can watch on a 3D TV...
1. 3D Blu Ray or DVD - To watch these you need a 3D capable Blu Ray player or a games console. There are dozens of 3D titles available in Blu Ray or DVD, ranging from movies through to documentaries and music shows. You can see many of the titles available just by going to Amazon and searching 3D movies.
2. Converted 2D to 3D - Many 3D TVs have a built in 2D to 3D conversion capability. Results are not always great, and quality is definitely not as good as watching a properly filmed 'native' 3D.
3. Streamed 3D TV programming - this is what you get from dedicated 3D TV channels. There are a number operating in the US, UK, and Europe. I don't think there are any operating yet in Australia/New Zealand, but not absolutely sure.
4. 3D games - for these you'll need a games console (eg playstation) or a PC that runs something like Nvidia. There are hundreds of 3D games either available or planned.
5 Create your own - you can shoot 3D videos using devices such as 3D mobile phones, camcorders etc. Then play back your own footage on a 3D TV.
For all these of course you need to have a 3D capable TV set.
