connecting my blu-ray player to my computer monitor with a dvi-d port?

Gregory Dr

do i need any special cable, connectors or adapters

Answer
Blu-Ray players will only work with HDCP-compliant monitors.

Not all DVI-equipped monitors are HDCP-compliant. If you attempt to connect a Blu-Ray player to a monitor that does not support HDCP, you will get NO image.

So find out if your monitor has HDCP first.

Also, a DVI-to-HDMI cable will strip out the audio carried by your Blu-Ray's HDMI port. You will have to figure out some other way of getting sound out of your Blu-Ray player (assuming your monitor is HDCP-compliant and will work with the Blu-Ray player).

Whats a good free blu ray player for a computer?
