Is there i website were i can download a blu ray player software?

I had one a while back but my hard drive failed so i lost EVERY thing off there and amongst those things was my software for playing Blu-Ray dvds on my computer... I think the program was called Direct X or something close to that. I want a free download from a website i KNOW wont give me a virus...Any suggestions?

Does anyone know of blu ray player software that I can download free? I have windows 8 if that matters any help is appreciated!

I'd hoped to find it at Nero's trial section, but it doesn't seem to be included.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. The Blu-ray software that came with Nero 11 caused my processor to hit 100% and stay there, but Power DVD 9 usually uses less than 33% of the processor power.

Power DVD has been nagging me to upgrade, and I may have to eventually if I want to watch newer Blu-ray discs on the computer. It feels as though I'm being locked into a proprietary format, though.
