Does a 3D TV need blu-ray?

Q. I was just wondering if a 3D TV needs a blu-ray in order to watch the TV in 3D. Best answer 10 points.
Wait so whats the difference between a 3D TV without blu-ray and a 3D TV with blu-ray?

Answer
Very few (if any) TV providers are broadcasting in 3D yet. Blu-ray plays are the best way to watch 3D content on your 3D TV at the moment. A regular DVD player will not play back in 3D, nor will a tape deck.
The difference between a 3D TV without a Blu-ray player and one with, is that the one without a BD player won't let you watch purchased or rented disks in HD or 3D.

Active Blue ray player on Passive TV?

Heyyyy123

If I buy a samsung player which uses active technology can I still see it on 3d using my passive LG TV?

Answer
The Blu-ray player makes no difference, the active or passive technology is the TV technology. BTW passive 3D is half resolution 3D compared to active so you may notice that Blu-ray doesn't look crisp and clear, thats because you are getting 540p per eye versus 1080p per eye found on active shutter.
