You're not streaming a Blu-ray. (Blu-ray isn't a format, it's a storage medium.) What you're doing is streaming a movie over the internet. The Blu-ray just serves as the media server.
I believe some of the movies are in HD quality, but none of them have surround sound. I don't have one of these players, but from what I understand the streaming quality is fine for documentaries and TV shows, but not so much with the action movies.

Problems getting new Blu-ray player to work.?

I got my husband a new Sony blu-ray player (model BDP-S360) for Christmas. I got the Sony HDMI cable and we have an HDTV by Phillips. We plugged the HDMI cable into the HD2 jack on our tv (HD1 is used by our cable box). The blu-ray screen comes on when the players display says welcome, but then the player's display says either load or wait, and the tv goes to noise. We've called Sony, no luck. I've exchanged the player for a new one and same problem. We also tried using the HDMI cable from the cable box, with no success. Anyone have any suggestions?
We tried the HD1 jack and it didn't work either. We don't have a home theater system or a reciever to connect it to (That will probably come next Christmas)

Try using HDMI connection # 1 on the tv. Make sure that you select that input when you want to watch the blu ray disc movies and set the cable box to # 2. Some older tvs have problems with HDMI cable connection that are not the brands like Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and Toshiba. Sony does not have a very good customer service support reputation. What are you using for your surround sound? If you have a receiver, you should connect everything to the receiver and then connect the HDMI output from the receiver to the tv. Hope this will help you out. Panasonic has the best entry level blu ray disc player in the market and the Sony BDP-S360 in not even on the list. Go to Home Theater magazine and read the reviews on blu ray disc players along with reviews on tvs. Hope this will help you out.
