yeah laptops are bad for gaming. try getting a barebone kit if you're going cheap and just buy a good card for it.
here are some good computers the desktop is used but i own one just like it and it plays mw3 at max settings on a 1080p 32" tv i paid $1500 for mine, the HTPC is if you don't have the room for a desk you can save room by having it on the entertainment center.

Should I get a Playstation 3?

I have an X-box 360. But I want the Playstation 3 beacuse of Metal Gear Solid 4. I am a big fan of it since it's 1st release on the PS1 back in 98. I'm planning on getting a 40GB before the game comes out. So is it worth spending a 400 system for just one game?

I also was having this debate not long ago. I have a 360 and I ended up getting a ps3 as well.
For one, I wanted a Blu-Ray player, so right there it was pretty much worth it.
PS3 is a really great system. Don't get me wrong, i don't have a favorite system, but my experience with Sony has always been good. (my ps1 and ps2 are still working great!) And my 360 has been sent in for repairs TWICE already.
Im pretty pumped for Little Big Planet and to try out PSHome
Id say get one, you may not use it as much as your 360 if your not into blu-ray movies so much, but It will come in handy in the long run.
