My blu ray player is tthe Vizio VBR110 and the only way to get blu ray live or access the net is by ethernet connection meaning that I would have to get a cord and hook it up all the way downstairs to the router is there an alternative way to get access using wireless? Such as maybe a USB wireless card?

Answer
you can try a router and a usb wireless adapter so long as you have a usb port that is compatible with such a device. you still need to main line a router to the wall unless you have a neighboring wireless connection thats unsecured. personally its easier to get a 8ft Ethernet cable and hook it up. you can find them cheap sometimes at ross and dollar stores swap meets etc heck. ive picked up HDMI cables for 10$ 6ft.

My sony blu ray player has an Ethernet port, but itâs not practical for me to use a wired connection. My Samsung smart tv has a wireless dongle attached to it. If I run an Ethernet cable from the smart tv to the blu ray, will I be able to access the online features of my blu ray discs?

Answer
No, but what do you want to access on your bluray that you cnnot access from your TV. Do you not have a usb port on your bluray, you could get a wireless dongle for that too.
