5.1 channel output HD DVD player, where can i get one?

Q. Im looking everywhere for a HD DVD player with clip connectors in the back ready to just plug in my existing 5.1 speakers and sub in the back. Im having no luck !! Can anyone point me in the right direction to one or a selection? THANKS :-).

Why would i go out and buy the whole package again when my 5.1 speakers and sub work perfectly fine.

Any help would be great :-) thanks.

( im picky, it would be nice to have an "optical in" as an accessory too )

Answer
More accurately, HD DVD went the way of BetaMax, since VHS machines are still being made. Do you really mean Blu Ray?

Anyway, a disc player with "clip connectors" on the back for hooking up speakers is called a DVD/receiver or Blu-Ray/receiver combo. Ironically, they usually come with "whole package" systems with 5.1 speakers and sub.

You're better off getting a stand-alone Blu Ray player and a decent A/V receiver to drive the speakers.

Does the Sony BDPS370 Blu-ray Player have 5.1 out? I want to buy it, and a surround sound system?

So im looking at spending about £250 all together for Blu Ray and a 5.1 system for my bedroom. Does anyone know if this player has 5.1 out? And how easy is it to link it up? I'm new to the whole 5.1 thing... So any advice would help massively! Thanks

Answer
Yes ... all Blu-ray players do. The BDPS370 has surround output (5.1 DD, DTS HD and Dolby True HD) via HDMI and 5.1 DD and DTS via optical and digital coax), stereo via RCA (but no multi-channel analog outs). see specs at the link.
