Vizio Blu-Ray player not playing "The Help"?

Rachelle09

We just purchased "The Help" in which our Vizio Blu-Ray player cannot seem to play. The disk loads, but all it comes up is a black screen. We tried exchanging it----same issue. Other Blu-Ray discs play just fine. What's going on?

Answer
You need to update the firmware in your Vizio player. Check your manual for instructions.

Look - BluRay disks are NOT simple DVD's. They are actually computer programs written in a language called "BD-Java". This is why the disks take so long to load - they have to compile the program and try to run.

Because Sony rushed BluRay into production too fast - the language has a lot of grey areas. This means new disks sometimes do not work. The Player manufacturers have to constantly update the firmware to keep up with the disks as they discover new problems.

Hope this helps.

does a vizio blu ray player need to be level?

My vizio vbr 334 blu ray player will not play a disc unless I hold the front of the player up until it starts. Its is a little out of level. The disc drawer just keeps opening and closing

Answer
Players should be flat on the table or cabinet. If the door keeps opening then your player needs to be repaired. With the cost of labor today, it would not be cost effective in repairing the player. Those bargain price players are not very reliable at all. I still use my first generation player from Panasonic model BD-10 which is 4 years old and have had no problems playing over 300 blu ray disc movies. Hope this will help you out.
