Does a converter let you play blu rays on a DVD player?

Brian M

A friend of mine has a DVD player with a converter/adapter (he bought it at Sears). I don't want to ask him directly because he'll think I'm dumb (lol), but would this allow him to play blu rays on his DVD player? Thanks.

Answer
Absolutely not. Just like you can't covert a CD player to play DVDs.

can u play reg dvds on blu-ray dvd player?

Jana Baker

or do they have to be blu-ray dvds?

Answer
All blu ray disc players made are backward compatibility. They can play anything that was made before it. You have to look at each player either in the top or face to see what it is capable of playing, it is also in the owners manual. Hope this will help you out.
