How can I play blu-ray dvd on my computer at 1080p and 50i or 60i?

I played the Dark Knight on my computer's blu-ray player but the frame rate was about 24 fps like on old DVD's. But the other day I saw Batman playing on a plasma tv at best buy and it was obviously at least 50 or 60 frames per second. It was very smooth.

How can I play it at 50i or 60i like they do on those big screen tvs at best buy? Do I need some special software (I'm using windows media player classic)?

thanks

Answer
Check your video card settings to see what rates it is capable of displaying. You may need to adjust them.

If you are talking 24p vs. 50 or 60i, there isn't much of a difference. 24p actually looks smoother IMO,

I want to buy Sherlock [blu-ray] from the U.K but unsure if it is actually region free has anyone bought it?

I have an american ps3, and want to know if anyone out there has bought this and has worked for them. Or if I should just get a multi-region blu-ray player and the region free blu ray?
Here is the link to the box set:

Answer
-Please note that this product will not play on US spec 60i Blu-ray players as the Blu-ray discs are authored to UK 50i specs.

your US PS3 won't output the 50hz disc. Not all blu-rays will play euro 50i discs so you'll have to do your research on a site such as http://www.avforums.com/forums/
Or just wait for the official US release
- we have a different HD broadcast system here (50hz as opposed to US 60hz)
