Is the license fee too high for SONY that is why not all computers come with blu ray player or blu ray recorder and only the very high end computers come with it?

And why no blu ray recorder for the TV ? Is that do to license fee to high for SONY?

Answer
It's a relatively new technology and people are willing to pay more for it. The physical Blu Ray drive and discs are quite expensive, but I am unsure if Sony has any influence for the prices of those. DVDs were just as expensive as they started to come out, adjusting inflation. And with new ways of distributing movies through the internet at Blu Ray quality, the future for Blu Ray is sketchy. I feel it is a bit more hyped up then worth.

Should I get a blu ray recorder or a blu ray player with a built in pvr?

I was going to get a Panasonic blu ray recorder so I can record shows and play blu ray but I just found a new LG blu ray player that has a personal video recorder built in. Both have twin hdd tuners the only difference is the price and the panasonic can burn the tv shows to a blu ray disc. What do you think?

Answer
Isn't it funny how we know what we want until the next thing comes along. I'd stick with the first choice but its what you want and can afford
